If you have registered for online access you can use the tools above to book an appointment or cancel an existing appointment.
Please give plenty of notice if you are cancelling an appointment so that it can be allocated to another patient.
If you wish to register for this service, and many other useful online services, please follow the link.
Please note: Appointments should only be made for one patient at a time; if another member of your family needs to be seen please make two appointments so that the correct notes are available and the appointments of other patients are not unnecessarily delayed.
We also have pre-bookable appointments for those patients needing continuing care, wherever possible we will endeavour to provide a doctor of your choice but this will not always be possible as some of our GP's are part time.
Telephone consultation appointments are available for blood test results and other queries that can be dealt with over the phone. Our practice nurses also offer triage appointments for minor ailments (e.g. sore throats, earache etc.).
You can book your appointment online. To register for our online services you will need visit Reception, bringing two forms of identification. One of these items should include your photograph. You can complete the registration form in advance (follow link above).
We will then issue a username and password.
Our reception team are trained to help you with any number of problems. An explanation of the problem can often ensure that you see the right person in the right clinic to deal with your problem.
The first hour in the morning is always very busy with emergency, bookable-on-the-day requests.
To make appointments for more routine problems please ring 01243 608201 after 10:30 if possible .
Home visits are ONLY made to patients who are permanently or temporarily housebound. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.
Requests for home visits should be made by 10:00am.
If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and they will arrange this for you.
Cancel an Appointment
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment. This will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.
Please use the online service or telephone 01243 608201 option 4 to cancel.

Extended Access (GPAH)
In conjunction with other local surgeries, GP and nurse appointments are now available during the evening and at weekends for Selsey patients. The surgeries are run at various locations in our area and are called GP Access Hubs (GPAH).
This means that appointments are available up to 8pm on weekdays and also during the day on a Saturday and Sunday.
GP Access Hubs aim to improve access to GP appointments and help local people to get the help and support they need.

How You Can Help
As with a lot of surgeries the demand for appointments at Selsey Medical Practice is high. We try our best to maximise the capacity of our appointment system and we provide a wide variety of clinics to meet the needs of our patients.
We do understand that patients can sometimes experience difficulties getting an appointment at the right time with the person of their choice. We promise to keep looking at ways to improve patient access but need some help from you.
What can you do:-
- Can your problem be dealt with in another way e.g. seeing a pharmacist?
- If you book an appointment in the future and then no longer need it - please cancel it
- Please do not book appointments "just in case" as you may be blocking someone that needs the appointment
- Do not call in the morning with medication queries or asking for test results as it is the surgery's busiest time
- If you cannot keep your appointment please cancel and someone else can take your place
Text (SMS) Reminder Service
We are implementing a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
To receive this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
